Marketing is problem solving. And the best solutions almost always start with a compelling brand story.
I spent two decades inside one of the biggest brand turnarounds of all time.
What started with about 400 season ticket holders in an empty Arrowhead Stadium turned into 125-plus straight sellouts in the stadium that set the bar for mid-sized venues worldwide, and turned Kansas City into the Soccer Capital of America. I’ll always be proud to say I helped lead the rebrand that Sports Illustrated called “American sports’ most successful reclamation project.”
We did work that won Emmys. But more importantly, we built a brand that people actually felt like they were a part of. I eventually led brand and creative both for Sporting and Kansas City's successful underdog bid to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Now I work independently with a handful of select clients at a time on work that gets me out of bed in the morning. Small roster. All in.
Recently that’s included the Royal Dutch Football Association, the Kansas City Power & Light District, University of Missouri-Kansas City Athletics, Strange Days Brewing Co., Parisi Coffee, and a large public school non-profit in Washington state. I’m also a partner in the relaunched Kansas City Clothing Company, an apparel brand built on KC identity and culture.
I live in Kansas City, the best city on the planet, with my amazing wife Katie, our toddler twins, a hat collection that’s gotten out of hand, and strong opinions about soccer kit design.
If you think we might be a fit, let’s find out.
